Short on time? Use this quick flow to get gallery-worthy shots without hauling a studio.
1) Scout in 60 seconds
Face the light source; note a clean background and a leading line (road, rail, shoreline).
Pick one wide scene and one detail you’ll shoot for sure.
2) Frame it fast
Wide: step back, include foreground (railing, flowers, stones) for depth.
Detail: textures, signage, hands with coffee, local patterns.
3) Simple phone/camera setup
Phone: tap to expose for the sky, then slide up a touch; turn on grid; shoot HDR off if silhouettes are cool.
Camera: aperture f/4–f/5.6, ISO auto capped at 800, EV -0.3 to protect highlights.
4) People without awkwardness
Capture backs/silhouettes or wide scenes; if someone is central, ask kindly and offer to AirDrop/send the pic.
5) Motion is magic
Add a moving element: walking partner, passing tram, fluttering flag, ripples on water.
6) Three quick angles
Low (near ground) for drama.
Eye-level for clarity.
High (bench/steps) to simplify clutter.
7) One-minute edit
Crop for simplicity, straighten horizons, reduce highlights, add a touch of warmth and clarity. Stop before it looks “edited.”
Micro-checklist
